Foster Christmas Tree Farm
Winter Planting: This Year's New Seedlings Are In
20 June 2026
Every winter our family heads out into the paddocks to plant the next generation of Christmas trees. It's slow, hands-on work, digging in each seedling by hand so that in a few years' time it will be ready to take home for someone's Christmas.
Because we only grow around 1,000 trees a year, we can take the time to plant carefully and look after every row as it grows. It also means our allocation each season is genuinely limited, which is why we encourage families to reserve early.
These seedlings planted this winter won't be ready for a few Christmases yet, but it's a good reminder of just how much care goes into every tree you see across the farm today.
Thank you to everyone in the family who got their hands dirty this week.
