Foster Christmas Tree Farm
Shaping Up: Winter Pruning on the Farm
8 July 2026
Winter might look quiet on the farm, but it's actually one of our busiest times for pruning. With the trees dormant, this is when we shape each tree to get that classic, full Christmas tree look, tidying up growth from the past year and encouraging a nice dense shape for the seasons ahead.
It's a job that takes patience, working tree by tree across the paddocks at Foster North. But it's worth it. Good pruning now is a big part of why families are able to walk out in November and find a well-shaped, healthy tree waiting for them.
We'll keep sharing progress as we move through winter and start looking ahead to spring, when our tagging weekends begin.
